Christopher Boomsma is the Director of Education at the American Society of Agronomy (ASA), Crop Science Society of America (CSSA), and Soil Science Society of America (SSSA). Prior to joining ASA, CSSA, and SSSA, he was the Managing Director of Automated Field Phenotyping and Trait Development at Purdue University where he led multi-institution, inter-disciplinary research and technology commercialization projects in the areas of crop phenotyping, remote sensing, and precision agriculture. He previously held a number of research and product development positions at Dow AgroSciences that involved work in precision agriculture, crop phenotyping, biotechnology, and field agronomy. He has served on the Board of Directors for the American Seed Trade Association (ASTA) and ASA. He received his Ph.D. in Agronomy and Crop Physiology from Purdue University and his B.A. in Plant Sciences from Dordt College.
