Mark LeBlanc was named as Indiana State Chemist and Seed Commissioner by Governor Eric Holcomb and Karen Plaut, the Glenn W. Sample Dean of Purdue Agriculture on October 3, 2020. Most recently he served as head of the Division of Agricultural Chemistry at the Louisiana State University AgCenter.

LeBlanc previously held the position of assistant director of the horticulture and quarantine program for the Louisiana Department of Agriculture and Forestry. He earned his bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees in horticulture from Louisiana State University.
